Hi Temp 1027 Grey
Description
Type:
Inorganic Ceramic High-Temperature Coating
Volume:
Standard pack sizes (Single-Component)
Category:
Heat-Resistant / CUI Protection Coating
Usage:
Provides exceptional resistance to corrosion under insulation and prevents external stress corrosion cracking of austenitic and duplex stainless steels. Withstands continuous temperatures up to 650°C and intermittent exposure up to 760°C, while also resisting cyclic thermal shock between –196°C and +540°C. Offers high resistance to boiling water, steam, and intermittent immersion, making it suitable for both insulated and non-insulated service. The coating contains 72% volume solids, with a recommended dry film thickness of 125–250 µm per coat, providing theoretical coverage between 5.8 m²/litre at 125 µm and 2.9 m²/litre at 250 µm. It dries to handle in 24 hours and can be overcoated after 6–8 hours at 20°C, with unlimited recoating intervals.
Applications:
Specifically designed for carbon steel and stainless steel in high-temperature service such as pipelines, process vessels, reactors, tanks, and equipment operating in refineries, petrochemical plants, and power stations. Particularly recommended for CUI protection systems in aggressive service environments. Compatible with PPG HI-TEMPâ„¢ topcoats (500 or 1000 series) for extended performance.
