Interzinc 22
Description
Type:
Two-Pack Inorganic Zinc-Rich Silicate Primer
Volume:
20 Ltrs (Part A Binder + Part B Zinc Powder, mixed 3.1:1 by volume)
Category:
Zinc Silicate Primer / Anti-Corrosive Protective Coating
Usage:
Interzinc 22 is suitable for application on bridges, tanks, pipework, offshore structures, and structural steelwork. It can also be used as a tank lining for certain chemical cargoes such as styrene (refer to chemical resistance guide). The coating provides continuous dry heat resistance up to 400°C untopcoated and up to 540°C when suitably topcoated (e.g. with Intertherm 50). It offers excellent adhesion, fast curing, and recoatability in a wide range of climatic conditions. Recommended dry film thickness is 50–75 µm per coat (range 40–125 µm), with a theoretical spreading rate of 8.4 m²/litre at 75 µm DFT. It dries to touch in 5–30 minutes depending on temperature, hard dries in 30–180 minutes, and is overcoatable within 1.5–18 hours depending on ambient conditions. Maximum recoat interval is extended, provided surfaces are clean and free of zinc salts.
Applications:
Recommended for structural steel, offshore platforms, refineries, petrochemical facilities, bridges, and storage tanks requiring long-term corrosion resistance. Compatible with a wide range of topcoats and intermediates including Intercure, Intergard, Interseal, and Intertherm systems.
