Usage:
Amerlock 400 GF / Sigmashield 400 is recommended as a surface-tolerant primer/coating for marine and protective coating systems, including immersion service and corrosion under insulation (CUI) protection of carbon steel and stainless steel. With 87 ± 3% volume solids, it provides a recommended DFT of 125–750 µm depending on the coating system, with a theoretical spreading rate of approximately 4.4 m²/litre at 200 µm DFT. It dries to touch in 6 hours, has a minimum overcoating interval of 24 hours, and reaches full cure after 8 days at 20°C. It provides continuous temperature resistance up to 204°C and intermittent resistance up to 232°C.
Applications:
Ideal for offshore and marine structures, industrial steelwork, immersion-service applications, and areas requiring protection against corrosion under insulation. Suitable for carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, concrete, masonry, and non-ferrous metals when appropriately prepared. It is particularly suited to heavy-duty environments where excellent corrosion, abrasion, impact, seawater, and barrier protection are required.
