Usage:
Apcodur 221 is recommended as an epoxy topcoat for marine and industrial environments and can also be used as a coloured intermediate or undercoat in high-performance coating systems. With approximately 48% volume solids, it provides a recommended DFT of 50–100 µm per coat and a theoretical coverage of approximately 4.8–9.6 m²/litre. At 30°C, it dries to surface dry in 2 hours, becomes hard in 16 hours, and reaches full cure in 7 days. The minimum overcoating interval is 16 hours, with a maximum of 1 month provided the surface remains clean and dry.
Applications:
Ideal for protecting steel structures and equipment in marine and industrial environments where resistance to abrasion, water, and mild chemicals is required. Suitable for application over compatible zinc primers, epoxy primers, and epoxy intermediate coats, and can be overcoated with compatible epoxy, polyurethane, and other conventional two-component coating systems. It can be applied by brush, air spray, or airless spray.
