Asian Zinc Silicate Primer
A two-component, solvent-based moisture-curing inorganic zinc silicate primer designed for steel surfaces exposed to aggressive environments. It provides excellent water and solvent resistance, good resistance to saline and marine atmospheres, and can withstand substrate temperatures from -90°C to 400°C under normal atmospheric exposure conditions.
Description
Type:
Two-Pack Solvent-Based Moisture-Curing Inorganic Zinc Silicate Coating
Volume:
20 Ltrs
Category:
Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primers
Usage:
Apcosil 605 Primer / Apcosil 601 is recommended as a primer coat for steel surfaces in aggressive environments. It provides a recommended DFT of 50–75 microns per coat, with a theoretical coverage of approximately 8.0–12.0 m²/litre. At 30°C, it dries to surface dry in approximately 30 minutes, becomes hard in 16 hours, and reaches full cure in 7 days. The minimum overcoating interval is 16 hours, while the maximum is unlimited provided the surface remains free from contamination, corrosion, and zinc salts. The coating can withstand substrate temperatures from -90°C to 400°C under normal atmospheric exposure, and with a suitable topcoat can provide corrosion protection for steel substrates up to 600°C.
Applications:
Ideal for protecting steel structures and equipment exposed to aggressive industrial, marine, and offshore environments. Suitable for steel surfaces requiring a high-performance inorganic zinc silicate primer before application of compatible epoxy, chlororubber, acrylic, polysiloxane, or heat-resistant silicone topcoats. It is applied by air spray or airless spray and is compatible with suitable topcoat systems recommended by Asian Paints PPG.
