Usage:
Hempadur AvantGuard 750 is designed for use as a versatile primer in severe industrial, offshore, and marine environments, ensuring long-term corrosion protection for steel structures. It offers excellent adhesion and surface wetting, reducing the effects of corrosion through its active zinc-rich technology. The coating provides strong barrier protection, good flexibility, and self-healing properties of micro-cracks, making it reliable under cyclic temperature and high-humidity conditions. Recommended dry film thickness is 60 µm per coat (normal range 50–100 µm), with a theoretical spreading rate of 10.8 m²/litre at 60 µm DFT. It dries to surface in 10 minutes, through-dry in 1.5 hours, and achieves full cure in 7 days at 20°C. Pot life is approx. 4 hours at 20°C.
Applications:
Recommended as a primer for steel structures, pipelines, bridges, offshore platforms, refineries, petrochemical units, and marine vessels exposed to highly corrosive conditions. It complies with ISO 12944 (Part 5, C5 environments), SSPC Paint 20, Type II, NORSOK M-501 (System 1), and EN 13501-1 fire classification B-s1, d0, making it ideal for use in high-spec protective coating systems.
