Berger Make Epoxy ZNEP Primer Grey
A two-pack, polyamide-cured epoxy primer containing metallic zinc designed to provide outstanding corrosion and cathodic protection to structural steel. It is highly resistant to normal cutting and welding operations, making it an ideal basecoat for multi-layer protective systems in aggressive industrial environments.
Description
Type:
Two-Pack Epoxy Polyamide Primer
Volume:
20 Ltrs (standard pack size)
Category:
Zinc-Rich Primers
Usage:
Epilux 4 Zinc Epoxy Primer is recommended for structural steel, pipelines, fertilizer plants, power generation plants, bulk handling equipment, and other critical steel infrastructure. It provides excellent resistance to salt water, solvents, and outdoor weathering, with good resistance to acids and alkalis when overcoated with a suitable topcoat. Recommended dry film thickness is 25–35 microns per coat (66–92 µm WFT), delivering a spreading rate of 10.8–15.2 m²/litre. The primer dries to touch within 15–30 minutes, handle in 4 hours, and hard dry in 8 hours. Full curing is achieved in 7 days. Overcoating interval is minimum overnight and maximum 1 month under proper conditions. It withstands continuous temperatures up to 120°C and intermittent exposures up to 200°C.
Applications:
Ideal for use on blasted steel substrates in fertilizer units, refineries, chemical plants, power plants, bulk handling machinery, and marine or industrial environments. For optimum performance, Epilux 4 Zinc Epoxy Primer should be overcoated with epoxy, chlororubber, polyurethane, or coal tar epoxy finishes to extend durability and maximize weatherability.
