Usage:
Bison HB Zinc Phosphate Primer is recommended for bridges, cranes, towers, equipment, tanks, and general structural steel subjected to aggressive atmospheric corrosion. It is suitable for both interior and exterior steel surfaces exposed to humidity, condensation, marine, and coastal conditions. With a recommended DFT of 35–50 microns per coat, it provides a theoretical spreading rate of approximately 8.2–11.7 m²/litre. The primer dries to touch in 1–2 hours, is handleable in 6–8 hours, and becomes hard overnight. It offers excellent resistance to water and good resistance to salt exposure, with continuous temperature resistance up to 93°C and intermittent resistance up to 120°C.
Applications:
Ideal for protecting structural steel in industrial, infrastructure, marine, and coastal environments. Suitable for bridges, cranes, towers, tanks, equipment, and other steel structures requiring a durable primer before application of compatible protective topcoats. It can be applied by brush, conventional spray, or airless spray and is suitable for overcoating with conventional as well as chlorinated rubber coatings.
