Usage:

Epilux 455 HB MIO Coating delivers excellent resistance to moisture ingress, saline atmospheres, and industrial pollutants. The MIO pigmentation enhances barrier properties, abrasion resistance, and durability, making it an ideal intermediate coat in epoxy protective systems. It withstands continuous heat exposure up to 90°C and intermittent service up to 120°C. The recommended dry film thickness is 100–125 µm per coat, with a theoretical spreading rate of 6.4–8.0 m²/litre depending on application and surface preparation. The coating dries to touch in 2–3 hours, hard dry in 10–12 hours, and cures fully in 7 days at 30°C. Overcoating can be done after 12 hours, with a maximum interval of 1 month provided the surface is clean.

Applications:

Ideally suited for steel structures, pipelines, bridges, storage tanks, offshore installations, and industrial equipment requiring long-term anticorrosive protection. Commonly used as an intermediate coat over zinc-rich primers and under epoxy or polyurethane finishes, forming part of heavy-duty coating systems in refineries, petrochemical units, power plants, and marine environments.
