Interzinc 52
A two-component, metallic zinc-rich epoxy primer that provides excellent anti-corrosive protection as part of heavy-duty coating systems. It complies with SSPC Paint 20 standards and is designed to deliver outstanding corrosion resistance in both new construction and maintenance applications across highly aggressive environments.
Description
Type:
Two-Pack Epoxy Zinc-Rich Primer
Volume:
10 Ltrs (Base + Hardener, mixed 4:1 by volume)
Category:
Zinc-Rich Epoxy Primer / Anti-Corrosive Coating
Usage:
Interzinc 52 is recommended for use as a high-performance primer on structural steel, bridges, offshore platforms, petrochemical units, pulp and paper plants, and power generation facilities. It offers galvanic protection to steel surfaces and ensures strong corrosion resistance even under aggressive exposure. The coating has volume solids of 59% ± 2%, with a recommended dry film thickness of 50–75 µm per coat (range 40–150 µm), corresponding to a theoretical spreading rate of 7.9 m²/litre at 75 µm DFT. It dries to touch in 45–120 minutes depending on temperature, hard dries in 2–10 hours, and cures fully in 5–24 hours depending on ambient conditions. Maximum overcoating interval is extended, making it compatible with a wide range of topcoats such as Intercure, Intergard, Interseal, Interfine, Interthane, and Interzone.
Applications:
Ideal for industrial steelwork, offshore structures, refineries, bridges, and marine facilities requiring long-term corrosion resistance. It can be used over properly prepared abrasive-blasted steel or unweathered zinc silicate shop primers, and is suitable for maintenance and repair of damaged inorganic zinc primers.
