It provides outstanding seawater and corrosion resistance, excellent abrasion resistance, and strong surface tolerance, while continuing to cure when immersed in water. Usage:
Sigmashield 880 is recommended for offshore splash-zone maintenance, buried pipe exteriors, tunnels, and other concrete structures, as well as steel surfaces requiring long-term corrosion protection in demanding environments. With 85 ± 2% volume solids, it provides a recommended DFT of 150–1000 µm depending on the coating system, with a theoretical spreading rate of approximately 4.3 m²/litre at 200 µm DFT. It dries to touch in 3 hours at 20°C, with a minimum overcoating interval of 3.5 hours and maximum of 14 days under standard conditions. The coating can also continue curing when immersed in water and provides outstanding seawater resistance.
Applications:
Ideal for offshore structures, splash-zone areas, buried pipe exteriors, tunnels, concrete structures, and steel surfaces exposed to severe marine and industrial environments. Particularly suitable for maintenance and repair applications where surface tolerance, abrasion resistance, seawater resistance, and long-term corrosion protection are required. It can be applied over suitably prepared steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, and concrete, using airless spray, air spray, or brush/roller application.
