Usage:

Designed as a versatile system primer for a wide range of paint systems, Sigmazinc™ 109 HS offers excellent anticorrosive performance and acts as an effective holding primer for maintenance coatings. It is quick-drying, allows early overcoating, and provides very good adhesion to blast-cleaned steel and approved shop-primed substrates. With a volume solids content of 66 ± 2%, it delivers a durable flat finish and ensures reliable protection against corrosion in aggressive industrial and marine environments. Recommended dry film thickness is 50–150 µm per coat, with a theoretical spreading rate of 11.0 m²/litre at 60 µm DFT. The coating dries to touch in approximately 2.5 hours and achieves full cure in 7 days at 20°C, with a pot life of around 6 hours.

Applications:

Ideal for use on steel structures, bridges, pipelines, storage tanks, marine vessels, offshore platforms, and industrial plants. Suitable for both immersion and atmospheric conditions when applied over properly prepared surfaces or compatible primers. Provides long-term corrosion protection and forms an excellent base for high-solids epoxy buildcoats, polyurethane, or other protective topcoats.
